You may have seen some female golfers wearing very visible clothing if you've ever been to a professional tournament. Paige Spiranac was one of those players who wore a mini skirt while on the course, before the dress code was implemented. Male golfers criticized the LPGA for shaming female players. Today, however, the dress code has been lifted.
Lexi Thompson
Alexis Noel Thompson is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. At 15 she became a pro. She has since qualified for several other major championships. She won her first LPGA championship in June 2016.

At age twelve, she became the youngest woman in history to play in the US Women's Open. At 16 she was already the youngest LPGA winner. She had also won her first tournament. At 20 years old, she has won multiple LPGA tournaments and is considered one of the world's most fit athletes. Each day, she practices for three hours, plays 18 holes, eats lunch, and works out with a trainer. Thompson, in addition the LPGA Tour, also gives her time to charities like the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thompson was one among the most popular players around the world in 2015 but has struggled in 2021. She had a five-shot lead at the US Women's Open in 2021, but failed to capitalize on it. She has won the LGPA Japan Tour in the past and the Ladies European Tour in the present. She currently ranks 9th in Rolex Player Rankings. Last spring, she was 17th in both the Lotte Championship as well as the ANA Inspiration. She also missed out on a chance at winning her second major tournament at Avnet Classic LPGA.
Michelle Maguire
Leona Maguire was the first Irishwoman to win the LPGA Tour Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27-year-old finished on -18, three strokes ahead of Lexi Thompson. Maguire had five birdies to start the season and was tied with Marina Alex going into the final round. She birdied the 11th, 10th, and 13th holes in order to win the title.
The 2020 season was mostly positive, though there were some lows in the early stages. She missed 16 LPGA Match-Play matches in May but bounced back to her best form this summer. Maguire said that her success can be attributed to many experiences she has had, both good and not so good. Positive experiences help build confidence, while negative ones serve as reality checks.

Maguire was selected to the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars roster. This honor is given to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically. Maguire's honor roll includes serving as a captain and team MVP. Maguire also broke Lydia Ko’s record for the most weeks at top of the World Amateur rankings. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
