If you've ever watched a professional golfer compete, you may have noticed a few female players in very revealing clothing. Paige Spiranac, for example, was known to wear a mini skirt on the course before the dress code was enforced. Male golfers criticized the LPGA for shaming female players. Today, however, the dress code has been lifted.

Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson is a professional American golfer who plays on LPGA Tour. She was 12 years of age when she was eligible to play in the U.S. Women's Open. She became a professional at the age of 15. Since then, she has qualified for many other major championships. In June 2016, she won her first LPGA title.

At the age of twelve, she was the youngest woman to ever play in the US Women's Open. By age sixteen, she was the youngest LPGA winner and had won her first tournament. She is a world-renowned athlete and has won numerous LPGA tournaments at age 20. She practices for three hour, plays 18-holes, eats lunch, then works out with a personal trainer. In addition to the LPGA Tour, Thompson also donates her time to charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project.

Thompson was one among the most popular players around the world in 2015 but has struggled in 2021. She led by five shots at 2021's US Women's Open, but she failed to capitalize. She has since won the LGPA Japan Tour and the Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th in the Rolex Player Rankings. She finished 17th in last spring's Lotte Championship, and 17th overall at the ANA Inspiration. She also missed a chance to win her second major tournament at the Avnet LPGA Classic.

Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire, an Irishwoman, became the first to win the LPGA Tour's Drive On Championship in Florida. The 27-yearold finished on -18, three shots ahead of Lexi Thompson. Maguire began the season with five birdies, and she finished tied with Marina Alex in the final round. To claim the title, Maguire birdied the 10th and 11th holes.

The overall outlook for 2020 was positive for the Irishwoman, although there were some low points during the first stages. She missed the LPGA Match-Play 16 in May, but she bounced back and was at her best throughout the summer. Maguire attributes her success to a variety of experiences, both positive and negative, from which she has learned. Positive experiences can build confidence. Negative experiences are a reality check.

Maguire was selected to the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars roster. This honor goes to student-athletes who are academically and athletically outstanding. Maguire was a captain, and the team MVP. Lydia Ko's record was broken by Maguire for having spent the most weeks at World Amateur number one. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
