If you're a woman who enjoys playing basketball, you've probably considered Diana Taurasi or Breanna Stewart to be the best women's basketball player. But is there anyone else on the list? Courtney Vandersloot, Elena Delle Donne and others? While you'll need to make your own decisions about these players, I've put together a list of the top 10 female basketball players.

Diana Taurasi

Diana Taurasi is the best WNBA player. Here are some examples of her resume. This All-Star has amassed an impressive list of trophies, including the MVP and scoring titles. Diana has also won three championships, two Finals MVP awards, and 14 All-WNBA selections, making her one of the best players in the league.

Breanna Stewart

The Seattle Storm are making their second consecutive appearance in the Finals. Breanna Stark is one of today's most outstanding players in WNBA. Two-time Finals MVP, Stewart was in the MVP conversation after the Olympic Games 2016. By the time she returned from her Achilles injury and won the title, she was widely recognized as the best player of the league. After winning the 2018 WNBA championship, she was named league MVP and Finals MVP.

Courtney Vandersloot

Vandersloot, who was a part of the Seattle Sky's 2021 playoffs success story after missing four years with Elena Delle Donne's retirement, helped them return to the post-season in 2021. She averaged 8.6 assists per games that season and led all league players in that category. In 2014 and 2015 she led the league in assists/game and was the first WNBA participant to average more then nine assists per-game. She was also the league's top player in points per match. Vandersloot averaged 10.2 assists per match in the postseason.


Elena Delle Donne

There will be much debate among women about whether Elena Delle Donne is the greatest WLBA player. But the evidence is strong. The former Duke star had a historic season in Washington. She was the first WNBA player who shot more than 50% from the field. Additionally, she shot over 40% from behind 3-point line. Her shooting percentage was so high that she won two MVPs with different teams. Her play helped the Mystics finish first in the league and top of the playoffs. Her performances earned 12 votes.

Allie Quigley

Allie Quigley has been a great player in women's basketball. Her intelligence and mental toughness make her an indispensable player. In the playoffs she made the game-winning basket as a Chicago Sky teammate. Quigley was quickly surrounded by two defenders as she dribbled towards the basket. She used the momentum against her to quickly pull up for an intermediate jumper. She pulled up and fired elbow-toelbow, sinking the shot.

Tamika Catchings

Tamika Catchings' career has seen her accumulate a remarkable number of stats that rank her among the top players in the WNBA. She is the leader in steals, and third in career point with 7,380. She has won the WNBA Player Award and three other league awards. Catchings is one of WNBA's most recognizable players, and will be inducted into Women's Basketball Hall of Fame at 2021.

Tina Charles was drafted No. Tina Charles was selected as the No. She was the Connecticut Sun's Rookie-of-the Year, and she played in her adopted hometown. She also set league records for double-doubles and rebounds during her rookie year. Charles won her Olympic debut gold medal and was named WNBA MVP.
