You've likely heard of some records held by the Women's National Basketball Association. There are several records held at the league by women including Sabrina Ionescu’s three-double, Sue Bird’s double–double record, Liz Cambage’s scoring record, as well as Liz Cambage’s scoring mark. Sabrina Ionescu - triple-double

Sabrina Ionescu's career triple-double record is a big one. As a college student, she averaged 17.2 ppg, 7.5rebounds, and 6 assists. This record was achieved midway through her second season. She had only played three games during her rookie season due to an ankle injury.

Ionescu was somewhat underperforming in the first part of this season's triple-double performance. But her second-half performance was excellent. Her 24 points and eight rebounds helped the New York Liberty improve their record to 9-12 and climb within half a game of the playoffs.

Sue Bird's double-double

Sue Bird, Seattle Storm's guard, set the WNBA career assists record with 2,600. Bird's double-double Friday night against Las Vegas Aces was one the greatest in league history. Ticha Penicheiro was the previous holder of the record. Bird, a 30-year veteran, passed her with a transition 3-pointer. With 1:50 remaining in the game, Seattle Storm was leading by eight points. Bird broke her personal record by making a 3-pointer, assisted by Breanna Steward.


Sue Bird has created a legacy in basketball that is second only to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's. Over two decades she was a Seattle Storm player and won four championships as well as 13 All Star games. She is also the only WNBA athlete to have played 500 games. Bird won five consecutive Olympic gold medals and was named the league's all-time leading scorer and assist maker.

Liz Cambage's scoring record

Liz Cambage ranks among the best WNBA centers. She ranks second among the league in points and rebounds as well as blocks per game. She is currently playing for the Dallas Wings who have won six of seven of their seven previous games. Today's game in Dallas was Kid's Day, where she was surrounded with thousands of children who viewed the game.

Cambage scored 53 points against New York Liberty, setting a new WNBA scoring milestone. Cambage shot seventy three percent from the floor and made fifteen of 16 free throws. This makes her first WNBA-player to score this many points within a single contest. In the game, she also had 10 rebounds and five blocks. The record is a fantastic achievement for Cambage, and she is clearly having a career season.

Candice Parker's career stats

Candice Parker, a professional basketball player. She is a member the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association. She was selected as the first overall pick in the 2008 WNBA draft. Her basketball journey began with the Los Angeles Sparks. She has played for numerous WNBA team, including the Chicago Sky.

Parker's remarkable career statistics are well documented. She was a part of the 2008 U.S Olympic Team in Beijing, and was drafted into WNBA. In her first game, she scored 34 points.
