Annika broke 60-holes barrier in 2001, playing a 59-hole tournament at Standard Register Ping. In 2003, she accepted an invitation to play in the Colonial tournament on the PGA Tour. She became the first women to play in a PGA Tour competition since 1945. She also won seven U.S. Women's Open Tournaments and the Vare Trophy.

The world's top female golfer is returning to competitive golf after a seven-year absence. Annika Sorenstam made her LPGA Tour comeback last summer, finishing 74th at the Sybase Classic. The ShopRite LPGA Classic is returning to the shores of New Jersey this summer, and fans from all over the northeast are invited to participate in the tournament. Since its inception in 1992, the event has contributed more than $19 million to local economic activity and $40 million towards various charities. Wakefern Food Corp. is the retail chain's merchandising- and logistics arm. The tournament raises money for them.
Kingsmill not on the 2022 Schedule
The Kingsmill Resort is not included in the 2022 LPGA Tour schedule. LPGA events have been hosted at Kingsmill's James River Course since 2003. The event was originally planned for 2021 but was cancelled after Pure Silk pulled out of the agreement at the end. The future of the James River course is unknown. Kingsmill is seeking a new title sponsor for the time being.

Congressional Country Club to host first women's major
