The ShopRite LPGA Classic is returning to the shores of New Jersey this summer, and fans from all over the northeast are invited to participate in the tournament. Since its inception in 1992, the event has contributed more than $19 million to local economic activity and $40 million towards various charities. Wakefern Food Corp. is the retail chain's merchandising- and logistics arm. The tournament raises money for them.
Kingsmill not on the 2022 Schedule
The Kingsmill Resort is not included in the 2022 LPGA Tour schedule. LPGA events have been hosted at Kingsmill's James River Course since 2003. The event was originally planned for 2021 but was cancelled after Pure Silk pulled out of the agreement at the end. The future of the James River course is unknown. Kingsmill is seeking a new title sponsor for the time being.
Congressional Country Club to host first women's major
Bethesda’s Congressional Country Club hosts the 68th KPMG Woman's PGA Champion, the first women’s major tournament in almost a ten-year span.
