In boxing, Mexicans have a rich history. Mexico is home to some of the most talented fighters in boxing, including Julio Cesar Chavez (pictured above) and Oscar De La Hoya (pictured below). Others, such Saul "Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez, have won world titles and become icons. Mexico has produced some of most skilled fighters in MMA history, even though it doesn't have the same royalty as boxing.
Brandon Moreno
Brandon Carrillo Moreno (professional mixed martial artist) is from Mexico. He competes in Flyweight at the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is an Interim UFC Flyweight Champion. He is known for his intense and fast paced style of fighting.
He has been married to Shirley Moreno for over 10 years. She often stands by him when he makes public appearances. The couple have three daughters, Maddie born in 2014, Megan born in 2019 and Morgan born in 2021. They shared photos of their family on social networks.
Cain Velasquez
After a successful UFC career, Mexican heavyweight Cain Velasquez has found a new career in professional wrestling. He has been a wrestler in Mexico as well as the WWE. He signed with AAA Mexican Promotion in December 2018. He plans to fight more this season.
Velasquez faces charges of attempted murder, multiple gun assault, and other crimes. He is being held without bail and will appear in court on Wednesday. Velasquez was taken into custody in connection with the shooting that took place Monday. The victim sustained only non-life-threatening injuries after the shooting.
Nick Diaz
Nick Diaz, Mexican MMA fighter is a world champion. His last fight was against Rob Lawler at UFC 47. Lawler prevailed by KO in the second round. Diaz has not been back in the ring since. Real Fight, Inc. is his fight promotion company. He is also the co-founder of Real Fight, Inc., a clothing company and a training center for jiujitsu.
Diaz will make his long awaited return to the octagon in this highly anticipated fight. While this may be his last fight with WME it is uncertain what Diaz's future holds. However, Diaz will be fighting Ferguson in a difficult fight.
Alejandro Perez
Alejandro Perez, a Mexican mixed martial arts artist, is currently competing at the Ultimate Fighting Championship's bantamweight division. His win on the reality TV show "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" made him famous. Perez was awarded the show and turned his attention to MMA.
Perez, 33 years old, is a Mexican citizen and was born September 2, 1989. He is now 33 and competes at bantamweight. He made his UFC debut in November 2014. He trains with the American Kickboxing Academy.
Melissa Martinez
Melissa Martinez, a Mexican Kickboxer, is 25 years old. She has been competing professionally since 2016. She has a perfect record and has been regarded as one of the best prospects in the world of mixed martial arts. Her specialty is shock technique. She's also been trained in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
Martinez won a medal at the 2021 World Association of Kickboxing Organiss (WAKO), World Championship, in Italy. She was also named the best female kickboxer at the event. She was also awarded the 2016 Pan American Kickboxing Championship title and a silver medal at 2017 World Games. She is also a six-time national kickboxing champion. She is a promising MMA fighter and hopes to continue her kickboxing career.
