The Women's National Basketball Association has many records that you may have heard of if you are a fan of basketball. There are several records held at the league by women including Sabrina Ionescu’s three-double, Sue Bird’s double–double record, Liz Cambage’s scoring record, as well as Liz Cambage’s scoring mark. Candice Parker can also be found in the career statistics.

Sabrina Ionescu - triple-double

Sabrina Ionescu holds a record for career triple-doubles. As a college player, she averaged 17.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. This record was won in the middle of her third season after she had only played three games as a rookie due to an ankle injury.

Ionescu's production in the first half of this season was a bit below her triple-double mark. But her second-half performance was excellent. The New York Liberty improved their record to 9-12 with her 24 points and eight rebound assists. They are now within half a game in the playoffs.

Sue Bird's double-double

Sue Bird, Seattle Storm Guard, established the WNBA record of career assists with 2,600. Bird's doubled-double on Friday against the Las Vegas Aces is one of the most significant in league history. Ticha Penicheiro held the record for 30-years, but Bird broke it with a 3-pointer in transition. With 1:50 left, the Seattle Storm lead by eight points. Bird broke her own record by scoring a 3-pointer with Breanna Stewart, her teammate.

Sue Bird has a basketball legacy that rivals Kareem Adl-Jabbar's. In two decades, she played with the Seattle Storm, won four championships and 13 All-Star games, and is the only WNBA player to reach 500 career games. Bird won five consecutive Olympic medals. In addition, she was the league's most valuable assist maker and scorer.

Liz Cambage's scoring record

Liz Cambage has been a top center in the WNBA. She is second in the league in blocks, points, and rebounds per game. She currently plays for Dallas Wings. The Wings have won six out of seven of their last seven games. Today's game, Kid's Day in Dallas saw her surrounded by thousands upon thousands of children who were there to watch the game.

Cambage set a new WNBA scoring standard with her 53-point performance against the New York Liberty. Cambage shot 73% from the field, and made 15 of 16 free shots. This makes her the first WNBA player ever to score this many points in a single match. She also pulled down 10 rebounds and made five blocks in this game. Cambage's record is an incredible accomplishment and she clearly is having a stellar season.
