Although there have been rumors of expansion, nothing concrete has been confirmed. The league will not change and expansion is unlikely for this season. The league is also open and available to new teams, however no expansion was announced for 2016.

Its players' organization

The Players Association were a New York based studio group. Chris Hills and Danny Weiss worked previously on The Grateful Dead's legendary fusion band. Their 1977 debut album for Vanguard Records was a classic. Their music was both raw and refined, with songs that reflected the complexity of human nature and the beauty found in everyday life. Their songs were influential but not without controversy.

The Players Association helped stage the Ultimate Breakaway Weekend in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Olympic athletes Lance Armstrong and the United States Women's National Team joined them at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Sheryl Crow, Anthony LaPaglia, and other musicians joined the Players Association to exhibit with local youth soccer players at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Players Association hosted a benefit concert to support the players.
