Brooke Henderson is the LOTTE Champion
Brooke Henderson of the LPGA is in line to claim her sixth career title. American has been searching since January for a win, but she is now in top form, shooting a total of 69. She averaged 25 putts per round in the first half of the tournament. She has had no bogeys through the first two rounds and has a perfect 68 through her last five rounds.
The second round of the LOTTE Championship was filled with some tough conditions for the field, but despite the challenging conditions, Brooke Henderson is leading the leaderboard after two rounds. Mo Martin shot a seven under par 70. ShanshanFeng shot a seven under par 73. She is now two strokes behind Brooke Henderson. Pernilla Linberg, who is the only player to break 70, tied for 25th.
Annika Sorenstam trails Madelene Sagstrom
Annika Sörenstam is back in the lead on LPGA Tour after she shot a 5-under 65. Madelene, who was one of her captain’s picks last season, teamed up to make the LPGA Tour team. The two shot a 5-under 65 to share the lead after the first round. Sorenstam, who is currently playing her second LPGA Tour tournament of the year, and third overall for 2008, will be taking part in this event. Sorenstam and Sagstrom play alternate shots again Friday.
Sorenstam, one of the four players who shot a round of 69, was two shots ahead of Sagstrom. Both players are still in the hunt for a win, but they are still within reach of a trophy. Sorenstam has not been victorious on the LPGA Tour since 2008. She has however played in several events this year including the U.S. Senior Women's Open at Kingsmill and the Michelob Ultra Open.
Brooke Henderson has won her second straight LPGA tournament
Brooke Henderson of Canada has won her second consecutive LPGA tournament. The 18-year-old had a remarkable year last year. At eighteen, she won Toronto's Women's PGA Championship and was invited to the 2016 Olympics. She finished seventh in Rio's women's tournament. She holds the record of the Canadian with the most LPGA Tour wins. She will win her tenth LPGA Tour event in April 2021. Since 2015, Henderson has won an LPGA championship every year.
Brooke Henderson won the Canadian LPGA Championship. After winning last year's LOTTE Championship, she also won the McKayson New Zealand Open (June) and the Meijer Classic (April). Her victory set a new Canadian record for the most LPGA Tour victories, beating Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson by two strokes each. She also won the Bobbie Rosefeld Award, which is the highest honor of the LPGA.
