Annika Sorenstam trails Madelene Sagstrom

Annika Sörenstam is back in the lead on LPGA Tour after she shot a 5-under 65. Madelene, who was one of her captain’s picks last season, teamed up to make the LPGA Tour team. The two shot a 5-under 65 to share the lead after the first round. Sorenstam, who is currently playing her second LPGA Tour tournament of the year, and third overall for 2008, will be taking part in this event. Sorenstam and Sagstrom play alternate shots again Friday.

Brooke Henderson of Canada has won her second consecutive LPGA tournament. The 18-year-old had a remarkable year last year. At eighteen, she won Toronto's Women's PGA Championship and was invited to the 2016 Olympics. She finished seventh in Rio's women's tournament. She holds the record of the Canadian with the most LPGA Tour wins. She will win her tenth LPGA Tour event in April 2021. Since 2015, Henderson has won an LPGA championship every year.

Brooke Henderson won the Canadian LPGA Championship. After winning last year's LOTTE Championship, she also won the McKayson New Zealand Open (June) and the Meijer Classic (April). Her victory set a new Canadian record for the most LPGA Tour victories, beating Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson by two strokes each. She also won the Bobbie Rosefeld Award, which is the highest honor of the LPGA.
