The matchup between the U.S. women’s team soccer team and Chile is interesting. Both sides met in fall 2018 and both games ended with a USA victory. Christiane Endler is the goalkeeper

The United States Women's National Team won 2-0 against Chile in Tuesday's World Cup opening match. The USWNT has now gone 3-0-0 against Chile, with Julie Ertz scoring one and Carli Lloyd scoring twice. The USWNT leads the Group F with a goal differential of 1.0 and will face Sweden this Thursday. The USWNT will be looking for a continuation of its winning streak and is considered a favorite to win the match.

Start lineup

Which players to start in the Women's Soccer USA vs Chile match? The United States will try to extend their unbeaten run in group stage. But a win over Chile could be crucial to their Olympic hopes. The United States is currently ranked fourth worldwide and has won 20 out of 38 matches. Their last match saw them defeat Sweden 66-38. They dominated possession and scored in halftime, but only 28% of the match saw them touch the ball. The USA didn't slow down even though they started the match without seven stars. Carli Lloyd scored two goals while missing a third.

Disputes between USWNT and FIFA

For a long time, the dispute between U.S. football and FIFA has simmered. But it is finally reaching its head. On International Women's Day in April, four months prior to the Women's World Cup began, a lawsuit was filed against U.S. soccer stars claiming gender discrimination. Players claim they are paid less than their male counterparts and that they do not have equal working conditions.

Players in the team who have received 200 caps or greater

Becky Sauerbrunn, who has now reached 200 caps, will become the 12th player in USWNT's history. She will also become the fourth defense player to cross this threshold. This feat comes only a few month after the Dutch captain attained this milestone. Her achievement will surpass General Manager Kate Markgraf's. Two years later, she is the first person to have captained the U.S. national soccer team since her 100th birthday celebration game.

Endler's denial regarding Press

Christen Press teed up Lindsey Horan for the U.S. goal, but Endler came out of her goal and denied her tap-in. Press's strike would have given Chile the lead, but Endler made a world-class save. She is gifted with a unique instinct and can make stunning saves. The game's highlight was the 68th-minute save.
