Jessica McDonald scores twice for Courage
Jessica McDonald of Courage scored two goals against the Portland Thorns in a match. Lynn Williams crossed the ball high into the box and Debinha one-touched it inside to McDonald, who headed the ball into the left side of the net. This is McDonalds' 50th career goals. The Courage won the league title and is now on the verge to make it long-distance playoff runs.
Trinity Rodman scores Thorns
After scoring three goals in the last three matches, Trinity Rodman has been a focal point of the Thorns' offense. She has been an integral member of the U.S. National Team System for years. In March, her country won the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. Rodman was a star on the night. She created three chances. She was a vital cog in the team’s playmaking, finding space between their backline and taking on one-on-1s. She was also a brilliant defensive player, with nine recovery, an interception, three tackles and one tackle.
Wave FC's Kailen Sheridan saves seven career penalties
Kailen Sheridan, Wave FC goalkeeper, saves a penalty for the seventh time in her career. In her last appearance against San Diego, Sheridan stopped three shots and saved two more. The Wave lost to the Kansas City Current 2-1 on Sunday. Amirah Ali scored Wave’s 88th-minute goal. MakenzyDoniak assisted Ali. Kansas City was awarded the lead after 27 minutes due to CeCe Kizer's penalty kick.

Alyssa Mauutz leaves the league
Alyssa Mutz announced her resignation from the NWSL on Tuesday. She stated that it was now time to move on. The Chicago Red Stars midfielder was a veteran of the league since 2003. She announced her retirement just before Wednesday's match. The move is expected to create a void in the league, which has struggled with transfer activity in recent seasons. Alyssa Mautz was league's top scorer with 16 goals and 8 assists during her 10-year career.
