Annie Park - A Korean American Golfer

Annie Park is a professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. She has one LPGA Tour win and recently competed in the 2019 Solheim Cup. She was a college individual champion, and she also competed on Symetra Tour. She received the Honda Sports Award for 2018 Other accomplishments include the 2013 NCAA Individual Championship, and three wins on Symetra Tour.

The Korean American golfer Annie Park has come a long way in her life. She was raised in Levittown, New York, and is one of three girls. She was a great junior golfer from a young age. She won the Nassau Boys High School Championship 2012 as the first female winner. Annie is humble but has been able to make a living from the sport.

Annie Park was determined to go professional after her junior-year. She had a thyroid operation in February, but recovered quickly. She missed the NCAA finals in May but has since won twice on the Epson Tour. On July 19, she won her Toyota Danielle Downey Classic. On Aug. 2, she won her PHC Classic. This makes Park the first Korean-American woman to win on the Tour. Park is also the leader for scoring averages and rounds in the 60s.

She was a college golfer.

Annie Park, an ex-college golfer, holds a 3.66 GPA. She is also a MacArthur's Renaissance student, which recognizes academically gifted individuals. Park is also a friend of Claritza Bquero, who has committed her self to Liberty University.

Park began playing golf when she was seven years old. At the age of 10, Park was hitting 500 golf balls per day. Her mom taught her how to play the game and took her along from tournament to tournament. Her older sister, 13 years younger, runs a nail shop in Glen Head, Long Island.

Annie Park won in 2018 the Honda Sports Award Women's Golf, after she qualified at the U.S Women's Open held at Sebonack Golf Club near Southampton, New York. She was one of four nominees and won the award in the process, beating out Katie Ledecky, Ella Eastin, and Indiana junior Lilly King. The award is the nation's top honor for women's college athletes. It will be presented on June 25 at the Honda Cup Los Angeles.


Annie Park was a former NCAA individual champion at the University of Southern California. In her first season, she won the conference championship and the Division I individual women's golf title, beating out the winner by six strokes. She won both the overall national title and the Honda Sports Award. She later decided to leave the Trojans and join the LPGA Tour.

She is a two-player at Mission Hills.

Annie Park was the only person who participated in the Chevron Championship held at Mission Hills Country Club. Park was the first round alone. Twosomes are common in this tournament. Park shot a score of 69-67 to make it through the cut. It was her best 36-hole score in a major tournament.

The next day, she will play with someone else. She's never been in the top 15 for any major and was once considering quitting. She played during a pandemic.

Annika Sorenstam, Se Ri Pak were her inspirations

Annie Park was inspired in childhood by Annika Stenstam and Se Ri Pak. Both were South Koreans that achieved great success on LPGA Tour. The first was an inspiration for young South Korean players. Sorenstam, on the other hand, became a rolemodel for young girls in America.

Park was born in Levittown, New York. She is the youngest sibling of three, and is the child of Korean immigrants. Despite her modest upbringing she is skilled enough to earn a living by golf.
