
LPGA Tour players are eligible for a variety awards. You can also be rewarded for your performance by being named Player of The Year. A player is awarded a certain number points for every top-10 finish. Points are doubled at major championships and the Tour Championship. For example, 30 point for first place equals twelve points at second place. A player will receive four points for finishing fourth, and another point for placing third. Then, if a player is eighth-placed, she receives three points. In the same way, eighth-place players receive two points. Another award is the Vare Trophy, named for the player with the lowest scoring average for the season.
Louise Suggs founded
Louise Suggs was one of the 13 founding members of Ladies Professional Golf Association. She died in her home at the age of 91. She was a pioneer for women's golf, and she helped create the LPGA tour back in 1950. She is a member of both the LPGA Hall of Fame as well as the World Golf Hall of Fame. Suggs has won at minimum one LPGA tournament in thirteen years straight and has 61 LPGA Championships to her credit.

Louise Suggs was the first Chinese player on the LPGA Tour
Louise Suggs was born in Georgia and won the U.S. Women's Open, 1949. She won by 14 shots, the largest margin for victory in the event's storied record. As a teenager, she won the U.S. Women's Amateur and the British Women's Open, and was nicknamed "the Great Distance Girl" by Bob Hope, a comedian who later became a prominent member of the LPGA.
Annika Sorenstam was the latest winner of an LPGA Tour event
Annika Sorenstam entered the 2008 LPGA season much earlier than many. She won the SBS Open Hawaii and the Michelob ULTRA Open, her 70th career triumph. In the meantime, she won the Stanford Pro-Am and the Michelob ULTRA Open, passing the $22 million earnings mark. Despite all her achievements, she is still warm and approachable, even though she has accomplished so much on the course.
The LPGA is affiliated with Women's Senior Golf Tour.
Jane Blalock's JBC Marketing organizes a senior golf tournament called the Women's Senior Golf Tour. Although it is not owned by the LPGA, the tour is affiliated with it and since 2006, it has held a season-ending championship. LPGA has played on the Legends Tour. LPGA also hosts events for younger females in addition the Legends Tour.

Dow is the official sustainability resource for the LPGA
LPGA Tour partnered with Dow to establish a digital hub, 'Celebrating The Green'. This hub will promote environmental responsibility and combat climate change. This hub will provide information about LPGA initiatives as well as highlight the company's commitment towards sustainable operations and climate action. The LPGA, in partnership with Dow will offer the OnCourse(r), a sustainability software program for its tournaments.
