The LPGA Drive On Championship is a series of women's golf tournaments. It was formed after several other tournaments were cancelled. "Drive On!" is the event's motto. Volvik USA sponsors the event. Leona Maguire leads the 2022 LPGA Drive On Championship
Leona Maguire finished on 18-under at Fort Myers’ LPGA Drive On Championship. With a final-round 67, she became the first Irish woman in the LPGA Tour's top 100. Maguire's total of 198 holes is also a career record. It surpasses her previous best of 15 under par at the 2021 Pelican Women's Championship.
Maguire is conscious of the historic significance of her victory on women’s golf, in her home country, and the tour. She still struggles with the fame that comes with it. Even the president of Ireland congratulated her after her February 2022 Drive On Championship win.
Marina Alex comes in second
Marina Alex's season has been great, but it isn't the only reason why she's succeeded. Alex was sidelined for seven consecutive months due to a serious back injury. Alex's schedule changed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States. She needed to continue to exercise to stay fit. When competition resumed in September, she suffered back problems. She persevered, and was determined that she would be able to recover in time for the end.
Alex has made every cut in the past. Alex tied for fourth at LPGA Drive On Championship in February. She was also in top form during West Coast Swing in California. She placed 35th at Mission Hills Country Club Rancho Mirage's Chevron Championship and was tied for 10th at Wilshire Country Club Los Angeles' DIO Implant L.A. Open.
Annika Sorenstam will host a LPGA Tour event for 2023
Annika Sorenstam hosts an LPGA Tour event in 2023 in Tampa Bay. It will be called "Annika driven at Gainbridge at Pelican" at Pelican, Fla. Sorenstam has been inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame. She is also the most decorated female player of all time. This will be the LPGA Tour’s final event of the season.
Sorenstam has been busy hosting events around the world. She is currently the co-host of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed event with Henrik Stenson. Aside from hosting the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed event, she also co-hosted the Ginn Tribute at Mount Pleasant, S.C. with Henrik Stenson. She has won 72 LPGA Tour events as well as 10 majors. She is the all-time leader in money, having earned more than $22 millions. The US Senior Women's Open was her latest victory.
